The enchanted life of Jonna Jinton
The most enchanted, magical, human-nature connection YouTube channel that is out there
Every now and then, someone comes into my life and makes me rethink all my habits and lifestyle. A few years ago, I met Jonna Jinton on YouTube and I've dreamed of leaving the city behind ever since. She's an artist, photographer and singer, and besides living in her dream house in a forest in northern Sweden, Jonna spends her days dedicating herself to what she loves most: art and being free.
When I watch her videos, I almost feel like I've been ripped from where I am and transported to a safe, peaceful place of endless beauty. It's like going into a trance – time around me stops and all I can do is let my mind wander to unknown realms.
But what I love most about Jonna's videos (apart from the impeccable quality) is the idea that I can live the same way she does; that I can, just like her, turn my back on the madness of big cities and immerse myself in nature somewhere far away. For someone like me, who has lived (almost) my entire life in a big city, it can be a bit frustrating to have to drive 30 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store. But I believe it would be the motivation I need to finally get a taste for cooking (because, as lazy as I am, I don't hesitate to eat any junk food I can get my hands on just to avoid going near the stove).
People like Jonna are popping up all over the internet. Without any pretense, they share their lifestyles in a “slow living” kinda of rhythm. To me, these people are the true bohemians. And Jonna is a great inspiration, especially when it comes to art and connecting with nature.
It's very likely that by the end of this year I won't be living in my house near the forest, but I can change my routine and make my apartment feel more like a country house – and I can definitely learn how to make a cake that doesn't look like a cookie.
